Encouraging people to become more informed and aware of the various issues affecting their communities and the world. Get ready to test your knowledge and compete with the brightest minds! The Academic Initiative Club presents the Quiz Competition, happening on 18th February as part of Prayatna 2023. Join us from 3pm to 4pm for a fun and educational event with a prize worth 6k.

Debates
An opportunity to share ideas and perspectives and learn more about different sides of an issue. Put your speaking skills to the test and join the academic debate. "The Rebuttal" is here, brought to you by the Academic Initiative Club as part of Prayatna 2023. On 19th Feb at 2pm-3pm, express your views and thoughts on the topic: "Do extra-curricular activities help us in tackling academic pressure, or do they increase the pressure on us?" With a prize worth 8k, it's time to sharpen your arguments and show us what you got!

BSF Band
To empower youth and promote selfless service, what can be better than the spirit of patriotism? Presenting to you a band performance by the BSF.

Comedy night
Get ready to have your funny bone tickled! With funny anecdotes, and witty comments, this night will surely be a great stress buster.

Hackathon
A platform where participants from diverse backgrounds come together to brainstorm, develop, and prototype innovative solutions to various social issues. These solutions range from developing a mobile application to help people access resources in their communities to creating a website to help connect people with similar interests.

Ability Unleashed
These shows are used to promote community engagement as well as to raise funds for the organization. This will be a good source of motivation for everyone.

Acharya Prashant Session
A prominent social reformer and educator of true spirituality in the world today. He speaks strongly for female empowerment, protection of the natural world, compassion for animals, Vedantic wisdom, for living rightly, and campaigns against superstition.

Old Age Home Visit
Visiting an old age home is a great way to give back to the community and create a meaningful experience for everyone involved. This event aims to bring joy to the elderly by engaging them in fun activities, creating lasting memories, and providing much-needed companionship.

Cyclothon
For spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS & other STDs among Campus Junta and to practice a healthy lifestyle, The Red Ribbon Club of the Students Welfare Board, IIT Guwahati will conduct "Cyclothon: A race to spread HIV/AIDS awareness" in PRAYATNA.Participants will also be given attractive merch and refreshments. We will also install interactive displays, to raise awareness about AIDS and HIV.

Blood Donation Camp
A blood donation camp in IITG in collaboration with NGOs as a small attempt to help save lives

Self Defence Workshop
The workshop typically includes both discussion and physical exercises that teach self-defense techniques. During the workshop, participants learn the basics of self-protection, such as assessing a situation and defending themselves physically if necessary.

Social Awareness Workshop
The Social Service Club, IIT Guwahati in collaboration with ‘The Buddha Institute’ brings to you, a "Social Awareness Workshop". Over the course of this workshop, you'll find a variety of Panel Discussions, sessions by Sector Leaders and Social Entrepreneurs, and Q&A sessions lined up. Don't miss this chance to learn about different social experiences, opportunity in the sector, and scope of professional engagement through their curriculum!

Yoga and meditation workshop
“Yoga is the solution for all the mental chaos and necessary for overall wellbeing.” A yoga workshop organized to assimilate peace in daily life of students.

Open Mic
An open mic event to discuss and explore various social issues. Engaging conversations and debates about topics such as racism, poverty, sexism, and more. Everyone will be welcome to attend and share their perspectives and opinions.

Speed Mentoring
During this program, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with and learn from an experienced senior for a quick 1-1 session. You’ll get to ask questions, gain valuable insights and build connections.
Note: This event is only open to first- and second-year bachelor's degree students.

Face Painting
A fun workshop where volunteers will paint faces of participants as an attempt to promote lgbtq rights

Samiksha
A women empowerment workshop which will have an interactive session and a workshop on menstrual awareness by Project Baala.
